High-Power Motor Control Experiment Platform

1.      Platform Introduction

The experiment platform presents a pairing structure that mainly consists of a high-power (typically 10kW) synchronous motor and asynchronous motor. The synchronous motor and asynchronous motor can both be in motor mode or generator motor. 

Typical scientific research applications include: 


  1. High-ower asynchronous motor energy-saving control, 
  2. Synchronous motor field weakening control, 
  3. Grid-connection power generation control for direct-drive wind power generation, etc.


The platform structure is as shown in the following figure:



2.      Platform Features
  1. Supports RCP Fast Prototype Design: Enables automatic conversion of users’ Matlab/Simulink simulated models to built-in control prototypes;
  2. Platform Application: Based on this platform, users can conduct development verification of drive-side synchronous/asynchronous motor control algorithms (for example, check whether there are speed sensor vector control, field weakening control, motor vector control based on sliding mode variable structure, etc); users can also perform development verification of grid-connection control algorithms on grid-connection permanent-magnet synchronous machines;
  3. Applicable Motor Types: AC permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM), AC asynchronous motors (IM);
  4. Hardware Resources: The platform integrates the fast prototype simulator (control prototype), bidirectional converters, and AC synchronous and asynchronous motors;
  5. DSP Automatic Code Generation: Supports the function of automatically generating DSP code for converting Simulink models into C language source code;
  6. Safety: The platform integrates hardware protection functions such as overvoltage, overcurrent, and braking, as well as software protection functions (against PWM dead zone time setting errors, etc), to ensure users’ device safety.
